Researcher's POV: Better descriptions of FEAR

Post by Aster-P »

Throughout the process of surveying the paranormal reports in Study #1, a few things became apparent.

Better descriptions of FEAR

By the end of the first 100 reports it became clear that the most common angst was over some kind of disturbance in their home, for which they could not find a normal explanation. Many, many of the reports described FEAR. Yet most of the reports weren't actually clear on what the fear was about. Mostly people indicated being freaked out because they didn't know what was happening. At the end of Study #1, seeing this revelation and looking back over the table of "fear descriptors," it became clear that better information (and surveying) was needed for why people were afraid.

There is only so much one can do with incomplete anecdotes. Study #2, the directed survey, will alleviate much of this issue as it will query the participants for solid answers.

For Study #3, the continuation of the Recent Paranormal Claims series, more attention will be given to the reasons for people's fear.
