APP Study #2

The directed survey is here!

With the first study, which used a pool of already-written public paranormal reports, one problem was missing data. Those free-style reports didn't always answer every aspect we wanted to study. Many people said they were SCARED, but not all of them said why. That's just one example but it's arguably our biggest concern.

As for traditional / historical paranormal polls, most seem concerned with "belief." (Do you BELIEVE in this-or-that??)

The topic of paranormal is highly nuanced. There are many different topics involved, two dozen easy. And the range of emotions run from [pee-yourself-fear] to [unknown-thing-definitely-saved-my-life].

Since our goal is to help people, we're interested in fear especially. (Raise your hand if you were legit terrified, and tell us WHY.)

But how many people live their whole lives and never have a paranormal experience???

Polls say 75% of people "believe" in some kind of paranormal phenomena.

So we're back to.... What about EXPERIENCES (or the lack thereof)?

It's a contradiction.

We'd like to ask THE WORLD about these things... in depth.
  • Did you ever have an event?
  • Did you NEVER have an event?
  • Were you scared, upset, curious, indifferent, or actually glad that the event happened?
  • Is there anything that can be MEASURED, now or if you'd thought of it then?
  • Is there anyone in the world who can FOR SURE point to a demonstrable, measurable paranormal event?

We've created a more complete survey:

Paranormal/Skeptical Belief and Experience 2021.

THIS IS A BETA version for a quick minute while we ask a few experts to critique our methodology. (The project won't be publicized for a little while yet - we're still gathering initial feedback.) If you want to check out the BETA version, just to see it and give feedback, you are welcome to have a look! Feel free to put in dummy info if you want to see the whole thing. (It wont let you skip pages if its blank.) All testing responses will be deleted when the board goes public.

Meanwhile, WE WOULD LOVE to hear your opinions before the public release. Like do you think there were questions/descriptions missing? Drop us a line as a reply to this post, or check out the survey's spot in the methodology forums.
